The beta service
Fettl is operated by Hard Mode Labs. The service, CLI, API, GitHub-connected workflows, and related materials may change, pause, or be withdrawn during private beta. Access may be limited while Hard Mode Labs evaluates product fit, pricing, operational controls, and hosted data boundaries.
You must be legally able to accept these terms and must have authority to connect any repository, organization, account, or code you submit to the service.
Free and Pro use
Free
Free is a limited, revocable, no-cost proprietary access grant. It is not open source, free software, public-domain dedication, redistribution permission, or an ownership transfer. Free use is limited to personal projects, education, public open-source projects, and time-limited evaluation of private or commercial repositories. It does not authorize ongoing free commercial production use.
Pro
Pro is the only self-service paid launch plan. While a Pro trial or subscription is trialing or active, it grants one named developer ongoing commercial-production use for repositories that developer is authorized to work on, without repository-count pricing.
Pro includes only the currently approved deterministic Fettl capabilities: the entitled CLI and rule catalog, structured JSON and SARIF output, CI and GitHub Action workflows, the managed App and API path, assessment and finding history, and repository or settings controls that are actually enabled. Pro does not include LLM-assisted or external-agent repair, hosted repair execution, provider-token repair, repair credits, dashboard access, or unavailable Max, Team, or Enterprise capabilities.
Billing and renewal
Paid Pro subscriptions are sold through Stripe-hosted checkout on a monthly or annual basis. Any trial length, launch price, currency, tax treatment, and refund statement are the terms shown at checkout for that purchase.
Paid subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. You may cancel through the Stripe billing portal, and cancellation takes effect at the end of the then-current billed period unless checkout or mandatory law says otherwise.
Fettl does not provide an extra billing grace period after a trial or paid period ends. A subscription that becomes past_due or expired falls back to Free immediately. A cancelled subscription remains Pro only through the end of its current paid period. Separately, the CLI may validate a previously issued signed entitlement for up to 24 hours of offline verification after its normal expiry, but that does not extend payment, the subscription term, or any hosted-service license.
Taxes are additional unless the checkout flow says they are included. Refunds are available only if the checkout flow says so or if non-waivable law requires them.
Findings and corrections
Fettl findings, scores, and deterministic changes are decision support, not a guarantee that code is correct, secure, complete, or fit for a particular purpose. You remain responsible for reviewing, testing, approving, deploying, and maintaining your code.
Pro does not include LLM-assisted or external-agent repair. If a future Max repair feature is offered, it will have separate terms and will require human approval before application. You must verify every change and its consequences in your own environment. Do not rely on Fettl to make architecture, product, compatibility, public-API, data-model, or other ambiguous design decisions for you.
Ownership
You retain ownership of your code, repository content, prompts, configuration, and other material you submit. Hard Mode Labs retains ownership of Fettl and all first-party Fettl software, binaries, documentation, configuration, generated assets, hosted-service materials, branding, and related intellectual property. No Free or paid access transfers ownership.
You grant Hard Mode Labs only the limited rights needed to host, transmit, scan, cache, secure, and otherwise process your material to provide the specific features you choose to use and to meet legal, fraud-prevention, accounting, or security obligations.
“Fettl” and “Hard Mode Labs” are protected names and marks.
Acceptable use
You may not use Fettl to:
- access code, accounts, repositories, or systems without authorization;
- violate law, third-party rights, or contractual restrictions;
- introduce malware, disrupt the service, or evade its security and usage controls;
- circumvent plan entitlements, repair limits, or technical restrictions;
- use Free as a substitute for paid ongoing commercial production access;
- resell, sublicense, or provide Fettl as a competing hosted service without written permission.
Hard Mode Labs may suspend, revoke, or terminate access for material breach, nonpayment, a security risk, unlawful activity, or conduct that threatens the service or other users. When access ends, your right to use the affected paid or hosted capability also ends.
Disclaimers and limits
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the beta service is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted availability, accuracy, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hard Mode Labs will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or business interruption arising from Fettl.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Hard Mode Labs' total aggregate liability arising from Fettl is limited to the greater of the fees you paid for Fettl in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim or USD $100. This limit does not apply to liability that cannot be limited or excluded under non-waivable law.

These terms may change as Fettl evolves. The updated date above shows when this page was last revised. If specific checkout, billing-portal, or written order terms conflict with this page on price, billing cadence, taxes, trials, or refunds, the more specific terms control for that transaction.
